XEROX SUTRA
Photos «Xerox-Sutra» is a work about sexuality and Indian men. I combine scans of a Kamasutra’s book illustrations -aphorism of desire- and portraits of the men who made the xerox. All of them work in numerous Xerox shops in the city of Bombay.
I create through these scans a physical link between those Indians and illustrations of this ancient book, the result of cultural freedom, in contrast to the post-colonial puritanism of contemporary India which I faced. With coincidence, this work was done in the context of the law against pornography in August 2015, considerably complicating and comforting my interest in this fieldwork.
2015, as part of a residence of three months in India.
